Integrating its principles has enriched her personal life and fueled her passion for sharing this knowledge with clients and colleagues. A Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Supervisor, EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist, and Certified Trauma Responsive Counselor, Amy has spent over a decade studying and teaching neuroscience and attachment through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. She’s known for her warm, humorous presentation style and ability to make complex concepts accessible. As Founder and lead Steward of Rooted Compassion Counseling and Consulting in Cincinnati, Ohio, she leads a team of clinicians integrating polyvagal-informed practices through movement, expressive arts, and trauma-responsive care.

Meet Your Consultants

Consultant Allyson Fish, LCSW

Allyson Fish, LCSW, has 20 years of clinical practice experience working with various populations, but primarily with Veterans. Most of her experience and training is focused on treating trauma.  After attending a one-day conference with Deb Dana, LCSW, in 2015, Allyson began using the lens of the Polyvagal Theory. She has had the opportunity and privilege of monthly clinical consultation with Deb for the past eight years. The completion of the Rhythm of Regulation Foundations training, consultation, and use of the PVT lens has strengthened her practice and delivery of the various modalities she is trained in (EMDR, IFS, and CPT).  She is trained and certified to provide the Safe and Sound Listening Protocol (SSP).  Allyson has assisted Deb as a consultant for the ROR training offered to VA clinicians as well as the Polyvagal Master Class at the Medomak retreat center in Washington, Maine.  She is thrilled about this opportunity to be part of the Rhythm of Regulation training team.
