Meet Your Senior Trainers

Senior Trainer Kelly Perry, LCSW

Kelly Perry, LCSW, has a private practice in Maine. She specializes in trauma. Kelly relies on her social engagement system during trainings, creating mutual safety in a place where therapists often pressure themselves to “get it right.” Kelly is playful and humorous, cultivating a place where it’s ok not to know. Kelly worked for 16 years with combat Veterans at the VA. During that time, she was graced to receive consultation with Deb Dana, LCSW, for eight years. Kelly completed Deb’s Rhythm of Regulation Foundations course, assisted Deb as a consultant in a ROR training offered to VA clinicians, and offered a consultation group after that training. Kelly has assisted in two of Deb’s Master Class retreats. Kelly loves creatively applying polyvagal theory to her other treatment modalities and is EMDR certified, IFS Level 1 trained, SSP Certified, NARM (Neuro affective relational model) level 2 trained, and DBT certified.

Senior Trainer Allyson Fish, LCSW

Allyson Fish, LCSW, has 20 years of clinical practice working with various populations, however primarily with Veterans.  Most of her experience and training is focused on treating trauma.  Since attending a one-day conference with Deb Dana, LCSW, in 2015, Allyson began using the lens of The Polyvagal Theory. She has had the privilege and opportunity of monthly clinical consultation with Deb for the past eight years.  Both consultation and using the lens of PVT has strengthened her practice and delivery of the various modalities she is trained in: EMDR, IFS, DBT, CPT, PE and certified Safe and Sound Listening Protocol.   Allyson has assisted Deb as a consultant for the Rhythm of Regulation series in 2022, as well as an assistant at Deb’s Polyvagal Master Class at the Medomak retreat center in Washington, Maine, in 2023 and 2024.  She has recently opened a private practice in Springvale, Maine, after working for 15 years with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Meet Your Consultants

Consultant Miriam Lieberman, MA

Coming Soon

Consultant Carolyn Piro, LCSW

Carolyn Piro is a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey. She is passionate about the relationship between the vagus nerve and the mind and all the spaces in between. She works with couples and individuals using PVT, EMDR. Sand Tray, and Imago Relationship Therapy.  Carolyn started her social work path as an advocate for her four children, three of whom have moderate special needs. When she isn't working, she is in the garden, walking in the woods with friends, watching a British crime drama or cooking something that she has no idea how it will turn out - but she always has hope!

Consultant Kate Shelton, LMHC

Kate Shelton, LMHC (she/they) has a private practice near Seattle, Washington. Kate loves to learn, laugh, and PLAY. Kate specializes in working with neurodivergent adolescents and young adults and loves teaching clients about neuroscience and physiology so they can better understand why their brains and nervous systems function the way they do so that they can care for themselves to the fullest. While working from a neurodiversity-affirming lens, Kate fell in love with how the simultaneous science and warmth of polyvagal theory filled in a missing piece of their practice. Neurodivergent herself, Kate has found profound personal benefit with polyvagal theory both as a private individual and as a practicing therapist. In addition to neurodiversity-affirming therapy and polyvagal theory, Kate utilizes DBT strategies and pulls from her background in drama therapy to develop a creative, fun, and safe space to grow. PS - Kate changes her hair all the time and may not look quite like her photo come February!
